Mercedes Benz has continued to fine tune the current version of the AMG GT 63S. Just recently the 2021 GT63S 4-Door Coupe has been a lot faster, and now it’s something that all Mercedes lovers will remember.
AMG’s development driver Demian Schaffert was recently behind the wheel of this car as it managed to complete 12.9 miles in a time of only 7 minutes and 27 seconds. That’s just over 2 seconds faster than the car’s previous best. The 2021 AMG GT-63S is also faster than its closest rival the Porsche Panamera Turbo S.
“Even though I’ve been accompanying our GT 63 through its development for several years now, it’s always impressive to see the wide spread we have been able to achieve with this exclusive vehicle, This is especially true after the recent slight revision.” – Demian Schaffert, Development Driver, AMG.
Unfortunately, specified details on what changes were actually made by AMG have not been revealed. However, we do know that the power ratings of the 2021 AMG have remained the same at 630 horsepower, and the focus was on making minor tweaks to the chassis system and suspension.
Other notable changes that were made to the 2021 AMG include the addition of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and the super sedan’s aero pack which lead to a reduction in drag time and increased the stability at higher speeds as well.
Rumor has it that AMG is currently testing the GT 63S 4-Door Coupe prototypes in camouflage gear and the updated GT is all set to arrive next year.
