Remember when Mercedes Benz launched Maybach back in the early 2000s. It found the success it had hoped for as poor sales of the Maybach 57 and 62 sedans led to the company axing the Maybach in 2012.
However, the tables have turned ever since the company decided to utilize the Maybach as an ultra-luxury sub-brand of Mercedes. Making its way to the Mercedes showrooms is the all-new 2021 Mercedes S-Class, and you guessed it, it has received the Maybach treatment. Just recently, a prototype for the redesigned Mercedes-Maybach S-Class was spotted in camouflage gear.
This features a uniquely long body and comes with a grille with vertical slats with designs inspired by the pinstripes of a suit. It’s safe to say that the grille won’t be as tall as the current models, and the headlights which will be shared with the redesigned S-Class will also be a lot slimmer. A combination of these two design features give the car a more streamlined face.
Turbocharged V-8 and V-12 powertrains that are equipped in the current models are expected to carry on for the new generation models, and we could see one or both powertrains augmented with hybrid technology.
Based on recent reports the all-new 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is expected to make its debut in the coming week, and its without-a-doubt the models will feature a majority of the latest tech developments taking place at Mercedes.
