The Mercedes-Benz’s Vance plant has started production of a $200,000 SUV. The SUV is being referred to as the “the peak of luxury.”
According to the company, a dedicated team is working on the interior of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS-600 in Tuscaloosa County. Among the luxury feature the vehicle has to offer are artificial intelligence, ambient lighting that is equipped with 64 colors, touchscreen media displays and a center console touchpad. The seats come equipped with reclining heat and ventilation.
To add in the extra perk, the cup holders come with heating and cooling features as well. The vehicle also features electrically operated roller sun blinds on rear side windows.
It’s not just all about the technology of the car. It comes equipped with a .0L V8 biturbo engine and has a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 4.8 seconds.
It’s worth mentioning here that Mercedes Benz has pumped more than $1 billon into its Tuscaloosa County operations over the past 3 years.
